  • The Thomas/Hill drama
Will you vote to confirm Clarence Thomas's nomination to the Supreme Court? Combining music from Benjamin Yarmolinsky's opera Clarence & Anita with role-playing from the actual transcripts from the 1991 hearings during which Anita Hill accused Thomas of sexual harassment, the audience plays the Senate for a cathartic participatory experience.

  • Julia: Music and Reflections
Julia Ward Howe (1819-1910) contributed much more to American life than "Glory, glory, Hallelujah!" She was involved in all the radical issues of her day, from abolition to women's suffrage, and spearheaded the original commemorations of Mother's Day as a celebration of antiwar values.

This recital of selections from the world premiere of music by Henry Papale, with historical and musical commentary, has been presented by the Riverdale Ethical Culture Society, the Waldwick (NJ) Public Library, the New York Civil War Roundtable, Greenwich House, and Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church (Brooklyn).
